There's this thing at work where if there aren't enough calls coming in, you can volunteer to go home without pay (hence, VGH = voluntary go home) and I've gotten in the habit of doing that more than I should.

So: SALARY + night diff - withholding tax - SSS - Pag-Ibig - Philhealth - VHG deduction = NOT ENUF MONIES!! It'll give my brain some much needed exercise. I just hope I still know what I'm doing. Hee~

They're showing re-runs of Honey and Clover again. I never get sick of watching this over and over again. Despite the heartache. Ha-ha.

Hullo, friends. I miss you all.

Ampogi ng batang to, ano beh.

When I read the books, I used to have a huge crush on Caspian and Edmund. But a much more grown-up Skandar Keynes has just tipped the scales in Edmund's favour. Haha.

As expected, there were a lot of deviations from the original storyline. I DID NOT like the Caspian x Susan angle. Where the hell did that come from. That was just gross. There was also just a leeetle too much angst in this movie, particularly on Peter and Caspian's part. Plus, the dryads looked like Ents. I know Tolkien and Lewis were friends, but that's just taking things too far.

Aside from that, I loved it. I thought the other deviations from the original storyline worked well to its adaptation on film. Like the siege on Miraz's castle, and the materialization of the White Witch.

Go, watch Narnia! :D

(plus random after work photos)

click to multiply

I haven't had beer in ages and oh, how I missed it so. Sukina was ok. The booze and food are cheap, the food's not bad and there's an attempt at interior design. It was an air-conditioned smoking area though, which meant I still faintly smelled like an ashtray 24 hours later. Fun, fun, fun. :D

Tagged by: ica amphoterism
Tagging: i really suck at tagging people

[X] People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog. Tag 8 people. Those who are tagged cannot refuse.
[X] These 8 people must state who they were tagged by. You cannot tag the person who tagged you. Continue this game by sending this to 8 other people.

1. What are you worried about?
My sanity

2. Are you confused as to what lies ahead of you?
Y / N

3. Is there anything that made you unhappy recently?
Stupid Americans

4. What did you last cry over?
"Little Women" on HBO

5. Have you ever dated someone?
I believe so

6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
Neither and both at the same time.

7. If the person you like doesn't accept you, would you continue to wait for them to change their feelings?
Hell no,

8. If the person you like is secretly attached, what would you do?
WTF secretly attached

9. What do you want most in life?
The answer to life, the universe and everything.

10. What's the most important thing you look for in a significant other?
wit and humor

11. Have you ever had your heart broken?
In the romantic sense of the term, no.

12. Would you rather be single and rich or married and poor?
Next question plz

13. Do you like someone right now?
I like a lot of people.

14. Do they like you too?
I suppose.

15. If you fall in love with 2 persons simultaneously, who would you pick?
Not gonna happen in the first place

16. What type of friends do you like?
The best ones evarrrr!

17. If you played a prank on someone, and she/he fell for the trick, what would you do?
w0ot!

18. If you were betrayed by someone, what would you say to that person?
Fuck you

19. If the person tagging you likes/loves you, what will you do/say?
Aylabjoo too!

20. What do you think of the person who tagged you?
Baybeh!

Oh, and I updated the graphic design gallery of my portfolio with a couple of layouts I did with Toolbox. Yay! Update! :D

Andy says that happens a lot. I guess I've just never been there during peak hours haha.

The new place is swanky. Ahlahveet. The washrooms are infinitely better too (no more coffin cubicles). Wish I could say the same for the service, but no, it's still as difficult to get the waitresses to notice that your hand has gone numb from being in the air too long.

But the foooooooooood was so goooooooood! I missed it sooooooooooooo much! I ate too much and too fast so I was queasy the whole cab ride home but who cares. Mmmmm-mmmmm. Garlic sauce.

--------

p.s There's this hooplah on deviantArt about some idiot paying over $200 for a narcissistic piece of shit.

*insert Nelson's finger-point and ,"Ha-ha"*

There's a sucker born every minute.

So we just got dispersed from the all-no0b team to our respective teams which kinda sucks because we've kinda grown attached to each other. My new TL is someone I've hung out with before at the yosi area so it's cool and she's uber nice so I'm having second thoughts about pushing through with my request to transfer to the swing shift. :P I'm off on Thursdays and Fridays! For teh winrar. I can has Friday!

My mom's in Vietnam for a week. Oh lordy. House party, anyone? If anyone's up for a house party around lunch. Mothers. Can't live with them, can't live without them.

Work's going ok. The temptation to resign early is still there, but I'm sticking to my guns (for now).

Daylight Savings Time sucks. I now have to be at the office at 8pm. Ugh.

Derrick and I found this at V-mall and I so want one!!! I'll paint my iPod to match, I swear.

It costs as much as a new 2nd gen iPod nano, but i want onnnnne! I also want the Rumble/Frenzy earphones and the Soundwave mp3 player.

They also have Transforming Nike sneakers, but I'm not into basketball shoes. :P

Met up with Anj, Monica, Myka and Noelle last Saturday for a long overdue coffee-yosi-chismis session. It was great to see them again, and at the same time it brought into harsh perspective the fact that my life has absolutely no direction whatsoever. I'm still an overgrown college kid pretending to be a grown up and not liking a single minute of it.

There is a design job opening that I'm itching to apply for, but I decided to hold off for a while. I really want to, but I know I'm not ready. I know a couple of months into it, I'd lose interest and resign.

I originally gave myself at least a year to stick it out at as a call (center) girl, but I'll be regularized in three months so I'll wait til then. If that opening is still there, then good. Then it was meant for me, right? Right. Keep telling yourself that.

And moving on from the angst...

My Aunt/godmother is one of those people who are impossible to buy gifts for because she pretty much has everything (she can also afford to buy everything). She's a big Klimt fan, so I thought I'd make her something Klimt inspired for Christmas. (yes, I know. i only got to upload it a few weeks ago, so there.)

click to deviantArt.

An upside to my current job is that I'm actually motivated to work on my watercolour. I have an idea for a series of paintings that I need to flesh out a bit but I'm buying watercolour paper tomorrow so I can get started. Let's go, go go!

I'm in the process of buying Mimie's iBook G4 because Lola, my old laptop, has been slowly dying out on me. Which is understandable, since she is more than 7 years old. Between Lola's hardrive ready to give out at any moment and our retarded desktop, we don't have a single properly functioning PC anymore. Boo.

So a TON of love to Mimie for letting me bring my new/her old laptop home even though I'm not (even close to) done paying for it in full! THANK YOUUUU, MIMIEEEEEEEE! \(* 3*)/

I still haven't decided on a name yet. Hee~ I'm still getting used to the Mac OS. n0ob. The score is currently iBook=1, gab-0.

The "weekends" go by so fast. (And by weekends, I mean Mondays-Tuesdays. I swear, I've never looked forward to Mondays before. :P ) Work's going okay. I'm not dreading it as much as I used to dread my old job, although I do miss doing anything remotely artsy-fartsy. (Photoshop!)

Right-o.

The problem with being away from the intarwebs for so long is that by the time you're finally online you can't remember anything interesting to blog about.

I got to watch Avatar 13 earlier (after months and months of waiting!) and I'm very, very happy that Zuko is past his teenage angst and uber mushy phase. And in as much as I love Mai and Zuko, Mai x Zuko is just whack. o_o

I still haven't watched "Sweeny Todd". For shame, Gab! You'll make Allan Rickman so sad!

And because I can't think of anything else to say:

Oh-ho! And is this supposed to melt in your mouth, not in your hand? XD It's for realzz, people. Check it out in the Japanese/Korean section of the Megamall grocery.

hullo, this is gabrielle. how may i help you?

I just finished training Friday morning and I am now an official Makati call-girl.

It's mind-numbing work, my voice will give out soon, and my body clock is totally out of whack, but I like (most of) the people I work with so it's cool. And when all motivation fails, there is always the pay. Haha. Salapiii~

"Perdido Street Station" is keeping me busy during my down time. (Thanks, Kuya Mike! :D) This, I think is my first encounter with Steampunk that is purely text so the details and jargon are a little overwhelming, but it's all good. My heart aches for Yagharek-the-Garuda.

The front cover designs irritates me to no end because it's just a stock photo collage with no sense of composition.

I also need to scour around for hair dye again. I have roots that are thiiii~iiis long who are calling out for a dye job.

Geoffrey is as big as my palm now. It's so sad. Just a year ago, she could fit snugly underneath a kangkong leaf. Why must my turtles get so big and fat? :( I want them to stay tiny forever.

First Post of 2008!

Happy New year, all! :) I am very happy to report that all the noise has died down, save for the sporadic bang, and that I can finally hear myself think. I'm such a scrooge when it comes to New Year's. The noise and smoke irritate me to no end.

We watched "I Am Legend" at Puff's the other day and z0mg, it was so awesome. It was heart-wrenching and heart-stopping and so incredibly tense, I didn't know if I wanted to pee or cry . And I'm not even a zombie-movie kinda person. The only other zombie flick I liked was "28 Days Later" and I highly suspect that was mostly because of Cillian Murphy, so yeah. "I am Legend". Watch it foo'.

I inherited my cousin's old aqua blue iPod mini and I was uploading songs to it when the desktop hung and now it refuses to boot. I think iTunes killed our desktop. Oh noes. And just earlier I found out that my laptop's keyboard is beyond all hope of decent repair. :( With any luck (and self-restraint), I can save up for a new laptop soon. It's been a bad year for electronics.

Product training's such a drag. I'm not looking forward to January 2 at all.

Anyway, here's to the New Year, loves. May we find it infinitely better than the last. :)

p.s Pink lemonade + Absolut Raspberry = teh shizneets. :D

I suppose it's the prospect of spending the holidays at training that's got me all schoolgirl-giddy but whatever. I can has Christmas! :D

More random shit...

I can't stand it when people use "jolly" to describe someone. No offense to anyone who does, but I firmly believe that unless you're Santa, a giant bee, or Captain Hook's ship, you are not jolly.

Bubbly, cheerful, happy, chipper. Look it up in the thesaurus, people. </pet peeve>

The mother and I watched "Elizabeth" yesterday. It was okay. I felt like the characters weren't fleshed out enough but hot damn, the costumes were gorgeous and Cate Blanchett has got one of the most beautiful faces ever.

I went "office-clothes" (yuck) shopping the other day. I got the most comfortable pair of pretty well-made flats for P250, a pair of skinny slacks for P350, and 2 blouses for P150. Love love love. You know what a cheapskate I am. I ♥ tiangges.

I might not get a Christmas after all. That's just a maybe, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

z0mg, Allan RIckman is in the new Tim Burton! z0mg! Allan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Depp and TIm Burton in one movie! I've died and gone to fangirl heaven! *_*

Third day of training. I have been running on about 5 hours of sleep per night because my body refuses to fall asleep before 11pm. 4AM, people! I wake up at 4AM to be at work before 6! Goodness gracious, great balls of fire.

It's funny how I've spent the past several years getting rid of my American accent and now I have to talk like a frickin' valley girl. Oh-ehm-geeee!1!one!eleventyone1!!

I'm still not sure I'm supposed to be here, but whatever. It pays well, and the benefits are good, and the trainer's nice.

Leave me alone, I'm still trying to justify this.
